Diagnose endo w/o surgery? Help! ππ
Basically I've always had bad cramps and heavy irregular periods since I started in 7th grade. My first two days are the worst being the heaviest and bad cramping. I usually get lucky and start when I'm off work for the day so I can stay home and lay in a ball. Nov 2013 I left work early because I had pain so unbearable I was puking. I drove home, changed, and then my husband drove me to the ER. I thought it was my appendix going to burst. Turns out it was a 4.5 cm cyst on my right ovary. I was told to go home with meds. I made them remove it because I was freaked out and in excruciating pain (also the fact that they told me it might burst and they don't know but it might also go away) I was then told I could lose my ovary because it the cyst was I guess wrapped around it and it could be cancerous. (It wasn't cancer and they saved my ovary.) Ever since then I can tell when I have a cyst forming by the pain (which 2 dr have told me is "normal"). It has never been as painful as when I went to ER though so I just deal with it. I told my current dr about the cyst that was removed, heavy irregular periods, pain during sex close to starting my period, back pain while on period, and she says it's all normal and no big deal. Also the dr who did my surgery didn't say anything about endometriosis. I had a pap in May and dr said everything was good. I honestly didn't know what endo was until I watched a buzzfeed video on youtube a few nights ago and thought I might have it. And now I honestly don't know if this is normal pain and I'm being dramatic(how I feel the drs act) or this is actually something serious? After doing research it looks like you would need a surgery to find out?? Is there any other way? Any advice helps!! πβ€οΈ Also I heard switching from tampons to a cup will help with cramps? Anybody experience that after switching?
