Do you burp your breastfed baby?

I've read that burping a breastfed baby is unnecessary. Do you mamas burp your babies if you breastfeed? Also, how long do you burp them for?

I exclusively breastfeed now and I burp her as necessary. I can always tell when she needs to burp because she gets really fussy and keeps pulling off the boob and her little legs go crazy. Once she's burped she's content and usually eats more. I don't have to burp her with every feed but I definitely do it multiple times a day. Every baby is different - you don't NEED to burp them like a bottle fed baby but some babies need it.

I almost always try to burp her, but after a couple minutes if she hasn't burped I don't worry about it. Sometimes she will burp as soon as I get her to my shoulder. A nurse told me breastfed babies tend to burp a lot easier.

I always burp my baby if she doesn't burp on her own.. I went a week without burping her and she ended up getting really bad, painful gas 😞 I definitely recommend burping your baby! I exclusively breastfeed my 6 week old 💜

I burp my son every 10 minutes. If I don't it will come right back up due to reflux. Either that or he will get bad gas pain later on. Its annoyingly to constantly burp but I slacked in the beginning and paid the price. But if your baby isn't having gas pain or reflux, I guess you're fine!
