Goofy eater.

FTM. Baby girl is 1 month.

It's a fairly new thing, at least been doing it a week. But when she gets hungry and starts crying I get my breast out to feed her. She will close her mouth around it, then start shaking her head back and forth trying to find it when it was just in her mouth. Even if it's leaking milk or spraying she can't seem to just start nursing. So I put it back in her mouth, and then she just starts screaming and won't latch even with it sitting in her mouth. Then eventually she'll latch on and it's like the moment never happened.

She does it at random. Some feeds she will latch right away and get to eating. Then other times it's a struggle to get her to realize it's in her mouth.

Also, there are other times where I'll go to feed her and then she gets distracted by her surroundings and won't even look at my breast until I end up putting it away.

I just get frustrated because sometimes it ends in a wet mess. Breast milk all over her, all over myself. And at night it's hard when I'm tired and she's not cooperating.

I know it's not her fault. I'm just hoping for some advice if there is any.

---when she gets distracted, we can be in the room with everything off and she will still get focused on other things.
