I was born with a disease. All my life my mom would say, "Well, a cure is so close. I'm sure they'll have one by the time you grow up." I've banked on that even though nearly no research goes into my disease.

A few years ago I tried a promising treatment that didn't end up working out for me. My form of this disease is not mild enough. However, there was another treatment out there that was just beginning trials. No matter what I did, I couldn't get set up on a trial as it would require me completely relocating for months.

A few days ago there was an article posted about how this treatment is to be approved by early next year, and though the FDA may make requests, that would only push it back a few months. I'm not sure what to do with myself. Could this really finally be happening? This treatment is extensive and could have some severe (though mostly temporary) side effects. But anything to be free!
