Question ladies ???

Question

Went cold turkey about 3 weeks ago , i wanna start back breastfeeding , i started lastnight & she latches perfectly , but while i was pumping i realize my milk was yellow thick & sticky what can that be ? & how can i increase my milk supply ?

I went from my son being 80% formula bottle fed and 20% breast fed for the first 4 weeks to 100% breastfed whaheyyyyy!! 
It really was difficult but so worth it! It's true what they say, nurse nurse nurse! Remember the more your breasts empty, the quicker they fill back up as your body feels your baby needs the extra milk (although you probably know this already). I remember sitting in bed the whole day once crying and feeding my son. But it needed to be done! I wanted my supply to establish itself as quickly as possible so I tried not to give formula at all. In hindsight I may have been happier to give the odd formula bottle here and there and pump on MY time instead to empty my breasts and increase production; it probably would have meant my nipples would have not been as sore either. It took me about a week for my son to start nursing for longer every 2.5-3 hours from nursing every 20-30 mins initially. Don't give up! You really will thank yourself for it especially once the soreness goes. BF'ing is so convenient especially for night feeds.  Once your milk is established you will even be able to produce an over supply and pump a couple of bottles of expressed milk (I feed from one breast, and then once my son is done I pump from the other). Remember to eat and drink plenty and TRY and be as stress free as possible; all easier said then done I know but it really helps. Good luck! X

Fenugreek pills start working really fast! You have to take 3 pills 3x daily though.

Drink plenty of water, maybe try some mothers milk tea...I've heard it works wonders! Good luck :)
