Ladies in relationships/married, how did you know God had approved that person?

Question

You hear stories all the time of women who tell that God told them who their husband was at a certain point in time, and that they watched and prayed until God nudged them both with the green light. I'm a firm believer in "God will tell both parties that they are for one another before he tells anyone else", I'm not into the whole "my pastor told me she had a dream my husband was so and so" 😂
How did you ladies get the green light from God???

I ment him during a great valley in my life.  I had strayed from God, committed fornication, and had a child out of wedlock.  That man cheated on me every chance he got, and abandoned me the week before my Son was born. 2 months later I went to wake my Son from his evening nap to give him bath and feed him dinner and he was breathless.  It shook my world like I've never known. I was drinking and smoking all day, everyday. I fell to my knees and begged God to get me out of that dark hole. The next day, I met him. He was so kind and respectful and beamed of God's grace and mercy. He helped me find my way back the Lord, and lead me to the mountain to get me up and out of that valley. I continued to pray about him and his purpose in my life...I begged God to show me he was the one.  Without me knowing, he asked my daddy if he could marry me, and proposed. I have no doubt he is the Godly man I needed. (:

We were not a good match when we met. We were 21, sinful, and had totally opposite personalities. Our relationship quickly became unhealthy. We were only drawn to each other because we were both adventurous and seeking an escape from the drag of life. Most couples who have been through what we have would not have married/stayed together - and in the past I have questioned why we did or if it was what God wanted for our lives. But - there has been such a transformation within both of us that it had to have been God holding us together, somehow. I am convinced that He kept us together to change us both for the better. We had to get past those bumps to strengthen us as a couple. Before marriage, we worshipped each other. As soon as we learned how to put God first, our lives changed so drastically and there was no denying that we had made the right choice.

we lived together before marriage I was saved 4 years after we had moved in together and the guilt consumed me. I prayed about it. he proposed but wanted a long engement. I kept praying that if it was God's will to put it on his heart so that we would live right. after months of prayer and not giving in to sex he finally realized how serious I was and he said ok let's get married. that's how I knew because God softened his heart oh and he got baptised a month before our wedding what an amazing God we serve.

My first husband wash bad choice.  I felt accomplished having married the pastors son.  We were together 5 yrs before we got married and it was a long trek uphill just for that to happen.  He never worked.  He wouldn’t go to school.  He just had “dreams” that he didn’t nothing to attain.  When he did take a few classes, I spent all my free time studying his materials so I could help him pass his test   Then out of nowhere, he told me he wanted a divorce.  After a two years of prayer, guidance, and giving him chances, I granted the divorce.  It was no longer a safe situation for me.  
My now husband is so opposite and wonderful.  Sure he drives me crazy sometimes.  He can be harsh and judgemental.  He’s also a terrible saver, but in his heart hes a loving, hard-working, encouraging, God-fearing, Christian man.  He’s a bit of a bad boy.  He was raise in the hood, but he loves Jesus. How did I know he was right?  First I had to know where my weak points were.  Then I had to define a Godly man and test him to see if he fulfilled all those things. All the other annoyances came into play.  I had to determine if I was willing to put up with some stuff.

In all honesty.. I was such a sinner when my husband and I bet a got married, I never asked God permission. And that's why marriage has had so many issues. But when I invited God he has slowly but surely been working it out.

I don’t believe there is one perfect person out there for you. You find a good person and make a decision. My husband was a good man from our church young adults group, and I knew him to be of good character. The more we dated the more I saw his love for God and his honesty, humility, and Christlike leadership. There were no red flags. My family and friends liked him, which was a huge one for me, especially my parents. Nobody put up any red flags about him so I felt confident in going forward with the relationship, knowing that if there was something, God would put a roadblock in our path. We got only green lights, so went ahead and got married. We’ve been married for five years and I couldn’t imagine anyone better to raise my sons with and to be their father. I joke with my husband that I prayed for a good man and when he came along I recognized quality and got on it right away! 😆
