Copper iud questions??

I have 6 weeks until I go into my doctors appointment to start birth control. My only rules about getting birth control is that I want to KEEP having my regular periods, and I know that's hard to do with a lot of birth control methods nowadays except for pills, but I'm terrible with remembering things so pills aren't an option. I heard the copper iud is a birth control that has no hormones so I will keep getting my regular periods monthly. Is that true? Also is there any side effects? How are the cramps? Is there spotting that comes with it? Do you like it? How is your experience? When you got off of it did you get pregnant right away? Is there any other birth control you recommend me to get if I want to keep having my monthly periods? And a birth control that won't effect me getting pregnant in the future? Also I'm breastfeeding and plan onto for a while, so will it dry up my milk supply? Thanks!
