has anyone tried couples counselling?

if you dont mind, why did you go? and did it work? If youve never been what are your thoughts on it?

I went with my husband before we were married. We weren't communicate in a productive way. I told him we needed to fix it or this wasn't going to work. We went for about six months and it was one of the best decisions we made. We were able to be vulnerable with each other in ways I had never even thought out. It helped us both figure things we went through in childhood that effected the way we react to each other. I recommend it for anyone and everyone, especially people in serious relationships or those planning to get married.

we had issues. we were almost completely done. I'm pregnant. we decided to go. best thing we could have done. we are good now. you both just need to be 100% all in.

We went and it really helped.  We didn't have any major issues to work on other than communication.  My advice would be too make sure your counselor is a good fit for both you and your husband.  Not a one sided person.  We had to switch  counselors once but after that it was smooth sailing.  best of luck

I went with my ex husband.   It was an epic fail... Anytime we went it was at a point one of us was not on board so it was really pointless and a huge waste of money.

I went. It didn't help. My husband had an affair and lied about it for two years. After he discovered I was giving attention to someone else (nothing sexual, just time and pictures) he went nuts. I was in individual counseling for months before he agreed to go because I said I was leaving if he didn't. He went to this counselor and it turned into a bash session. After we left I felt worse. According to the two of them, I am crazy for being mad at him for sleeping with this woman and I am a control freak for begging him to fix it...oh and I love this one, I am too strong and independent for marriage because he literally goes to work and comes back to play videogames and watch porn all night or get drunk with his "buddies" while I do the cooking, cleaning, child rearing, go to school, and whatever else it takes to run a house. He is verbally and mentally abusive now and I am filling for divorce.

We have never have done counseling. But I'm open in doing counseling if I think my relationship would benefit from counseling.  counseling it's a good option and there's nothing wrong with trying it out.

Have never done it, but I would consider it if we were in a situation where it could help.
Every relationship is different and I think you should explore all your options if the relationship is worth saving. I would also imagine that a good therapist/councellor makes all the difference in whether it's successful or not.
