Inducing labour?

I want to be induced and I've been talking with my OB and she continues to tell me when I reach 35 weeks she will have a better answer for when it is safe for me. However I want to know when any of you were induced or used herbs/other methods to induce yourself naturally. Comment below too please!

Just wondering why you would want to be induced? I would never choose that. I had to be induced at 41 weeks and it was awful. It made Labor horrible.

I would not induce any earlier than 38-39 weeks since the baby is still growing & getting nutrients it needs. My doctor wouldn't even entertain the idea until I had passed my due date, which is normal. I wouldn't have chosen to be induced, because pitocin contractions were horrible but I was borderline low fluid & aging placenta. I would keep the baby in as long as you can and that it is medically safe for both of you!

I was induced twice with no complications. I'm scheduled to be induced again at 39 weeks.

What health issue are you dealing with? I think it's very hard for anyone to understand why you would want to have your baby before it's ready without knowing exactly why.  Also, I would think a home birth would be dangerous with a baby at 35 weeks. Technically still a premie at that point. That's great your dr is willing to accommodate your wish of a home birth but it just sound dangerous when you add a medical condition is involved?

Would the doctor not consider a c section? I read that the induction is for medical reasons and I'm just wondering why induction over c section? There are pros and cons to both but I've read and heard induction can often lead to a c section and I'm thinking if health issues are already a concern maybe reading up on and asking your doctor about a c section might be a better road?

I was induced with my 10 month old for medical reasons. It nearly ended in a medical c-section. I encourage you to ask questions and research before you do a elective induction. Also, will your insurance cover an elective induction?  I wish my daughter had the choice to come on her own but that was not the case. Please, really think long and hard. They are not all easy.

If this is your first pregnancy I wouldn't do it unless you really had too , my doctor is against inducing first time moms because by it being your first baby you'll be going into it with a blind eye not knowing how well developed your baby is .

However at 37 wks the babe is considered full term and labor won't be stopped if it happens. 
I had a low lying placenta this time that if it hadn't moved when the uterus grew they were going to schedule a c section at 36 wks. Hopefully you babe will come on it's own because I've heard horror stories from women that were induced.

If there are health issues, please don't try and induce yourself. 
Your doctor will make the best decision for you and your baby.
