Puppy and baby at the same time?!?

Ok ladies, my husband and I currently have one dog- a 3.5 year old bulldog. He's got lots of energy. I am due in March with our first child. My husband, since day one of finding out were pregnant, has been OBSESSED WITH getting a puppy a month or two before OR after the baby is born. I am terrified. I know all of the cons. We raised our current dog from a puppy and doing that plus jumping into this whole new world of parenting at the same time sounds AWFUL. That being said, my husband treats me so well and always does everything to make me happy. I really want to get on board with this and say yes, even though all of me wants to say no. 
I'm looking for advice. I know so many of you will scream "don't do it!" But I'm already in that mindset, I need some positive thinkers to help me get on board. 
That being said, if I give him an official "no"- then we're not doing it. But he'll be so heartbroken!

Don't do it! At least don't get a puppy maybe adopt one that's over the puppy stage. I have 2 kids and 1 dog (the she's 2 they're 5&7) we're ttc baby #3 and I've been entertaining the idea of getting a puppy before baby's born so my dog has a friend but also has time to get used to another dog before having a baby enter her life. Plus having a puppy sometimes feels like more work than a baby... just my option though!

Do it! We are going to. We have a dog right now as well, but we want a puppy to grow up with our child! We want them to have that bond as they grow together. Essentially it's our future child's puppy, not ours. ☺️ After baby is born, give it a few months, settle in, and adopt that puppy!!

I mean if he wants to get a puppy and you want to get on board then do it! The puppy will be able to grow up with your little baby. I would just recommend getting the puppy a few months before the baby comes so that y'all can train him and get him in a habit of when to eat, pee, etc. so when baby comes you're not to over whelmed with training a puppy and with getting into the whole parenting thing (: I hope you find the answer you're looking for good luck 😊

Maybe say you can get a new puppy a few weeks after the baby's born. Then when he sees how much work having a new baby is he'll be the one who decides to wait a while lol

We got a second kitten when I was 3 months pregnant 😁 I have a 4 week old, and she's a really easy baby. Some nights she'll sleep 6 hours straight. So for me, I don't think it would be too difficult. I'd suggest waiting until after baby arrives though. That way puppy doesn't feel like he's being replaced, since baby was already there,

NO. NO. I got a puppy when my daughter was 6 months and it's been difficult to properly train the dog compared to my dog before kids, because I'm busy tending to my baby and can't take the dog out frequently. Poop on the floor plus a crawling baby sucks. You'll be holding and nursing/feeding the baby a lot so to take the dog out, stop it from chewing stuff up (teething crazies) etc is going to make you crazy, not to mention some puppies (like mine) don't understand boundaries and jump, play bite etc when they're really little. I say definitely wait until baby is older.

Suggest to wait until after your six week check up. At this point you will know where your health stands and have a better idea of having a new born. If he still wants one then maybe start looking around to get the right puppy.

I am so exhausted with a newborn, he's 12w now and I'm still trying to catch up on sleep. I can't imagine trying to take care of a puppy who needs special food and potty training. We have a 8 year old pittie mix and have talked about getting a puppy, but unless your husband is staying home yo take care of the dog while you stay home and take care of the baby? You're going to be exhausted and frustrated. I love dogs and I love puppies, but I would hold out until your LO isn't nursing every 1-2hours and needs your 100% undivided attention. Like maybe at least not before 8-10 mo old.
