Normal Sonograms?

My doctor is having me go in for my first sonogram around 12 weeks. I went to my first appointment at 5 weeks 2days and only had an internal.
Is it normal to wait this long to hear the heartbeat/ get your first sono??

Perfectly normal. I had an early one at 6weeks and go back for an 8weeks scan due to previous mc. If there's no cause for concern 10-12 weeks is the norm

My first appointment isn't even until 10 weeks. It's normal, don't worry!

That's normal for singleton, non-complicated pregnancies. You can still hear the heartbeat at your regular appointments though. :)

my doctor told me that they always wait until 12 weeks unless there is a reason to have to look, i had a bleed at 7 weeks so she booked me an ultrasound at 8 weeks, turns out i have a small bleed behind the placenta, so she told me i have to be montiored more frequently, otherwise u only get a 12 week ultrasound and a 20 week ultrasound thats it but they will check heartbeat via doppler ... from my experience

I went in at 7 weeks and 2 days. Next appointment is at 9 weeks.

I'm 8 weeks tomorrow and had my first appointment last week & heard the heartbeat and had an ultrasound, it was a vaginal ultrasound though. I was honestly shocked I heard the heartbeat so early.

my dr is doing the same thing, I'm switching because I think that's too late. I mean what if I have a blighted ovum or a missed mc. too many things can go wrong and I'd rather know. now if its like 8 weeks that's pretty normal. good luck girl!
