Intermittent Fasting??

Has anybody ever done this and lost weight? I'm really considering it since I'm overweight but I work out and I've been gaining muscle. I'm going to do it from 1pm since i really eat around that time before work & any time after 7pm, i drink water or green tea or something that doesnt have calories. You don't eat after 7 until 1pm the next day.. I work out from 7:30-8:15 pm with my trainer Monday-Thursday, so would it be beneficial to workout during this fasting ? I'm planning to do it for a month to see progress. I've heard of eating 4x a week and fasting 3x a week was the best solution but I want to know if anybody has done this and succeeded? I am really considering doing this tomorrow. Comment please!
