Tension over crying it out

My husband and I have been fighting over whether or not to let our son cry it out. He's 3 months old and I think he is way too young to do it. My husband, on the other hand, has no problem letting him cry it out for an hour while sitting next to him. It's causing a lot of tension between us and I don't know what to do. He has done research that you can let them cry it out from day 1 and has been told by family that you can't let that baby control you.

I have attachment issues and I struggle with just letting my son cry. If he needs me, I want to be there. It's not like he's a teenager that you have to let fail on a test. He's a baby that needs to know his parents will take care of his needs.

We have talked this out several times and we just can't reach an agreement. Anyone else struggle with this? What do you do?
