So a few hours ago my husband and I were out walking our dog. It's a gorgeous sunny day here. We live in a quiet suburban neighborhood of condos. The exorbitant condo fees cover some pretty spectacular landscaping. There are drainage basins for storm water run off all throughout, but most of the time they just look like nice green hills.
I look over, and halfway down one of these hills is a woman, curled up in the fetal position, face down in the grass. It's hard to describe her position accurately, but this was clearly not someone out sunbathing, reading, etc.
So we walk a bit closer and it just looks wrong. I say to my husband, go check on her, I'll hold the dog. He says no way, you go, I'll hold the dog. And eventually all three of us walk over. I start calling out "hello, are you ok? Etc." and there is no response. I'm not kidding when I say for a minute I thought she was deceased.
My husband tells me that I should be the one to go closer because I'm a girl and I'm less threatening to another girl who might just be passed out in the grass. I tell him, she might be crazy, you're stronger than me, you should go. This whole conversation is happening about 3 feet from this woman who still hasn't moved.
I went up to where I could have touched her and basically yelled are you ok and she mumbled "fine." So we continued our walk and turned around to head home. By then she was sitting up and looking much less worrisome.
