I have been with my boyfriend for almost 4 years. he was perfect up until a year into the relationship where he started showing his true colors. That's when it turned physically abusive. I went without talking or seeing him for almost 6 months before he basically lured me back in. it was great until another year and a half went by and he done it again. then more time went by and fast forward to now 2017 and he has done it twice in a span of 3 months. apparently it's getting more frequent. never would I think I would be a person in this situation at all. nor would I believe that he would do such a thing. I've know him since freshman year in high school. I've done more for him than I have in any other relationship. I've given him chance after chance. today he did it again then leaves stating that he is not going to return. honestly (although I hate it took this long) I could give two shits if he comes back. I highly prefer that he does not show his face back here at all. the issue is that we have a home together and I'm not currently working he pays all the bills. I have a daughter here (from a previous relationship) that he didn't care was in the room when this incident occurred thus time. this was the final straw. I need to get away before I kill him or he kills me. not to make excuses for him but he is a heavy drinker as well. this is the source of all the incidents. if anyone has been in this situation your advice would be much appreciated . I need to know if there is a light at the end of this horrible tunnel...
