Belly button piercing?

So lately I have been thinking about getting my belly button pierced. I was wondering, will it look awful later on down the road when I want to take it out? Will it be extremely noticeable? Are there any other tips or information I should have before I make my decision?

Answer

The only time it might begin to look bad is if you have a pregnancy that stretches out your skin on your stomach. I had mine pierced for so many years and took it out when I got pregnant because it became uncomfortable and rather than getting the kind that they use during pregnancy, I just decided to take it out completely. It doesn't look awful, but my stomach skin didn't really get any stretch marks or anything like that.

I've had my top part pierced twice, both times it got infected and I had to take it out, and I've literally never even had someone comment on the scar. I definitely have more noticeable scars on my body from random incidents.
