Is 37 weeks too late for a baby shower?

My MIL is throwing me a baby shower on October 21st and I'm afraid that it's a little too close to my due date.

Just a tad. But hopefully you're still pregnant! You'll definitely be tired, so just relax and don't stress when you are that far along. If baby comes before, just notify your guests! Hopefully they would drop off your gifts in that case🤔😁

I think it depends on you. For instance, with my first I had no inclinations that my son was coming earlier than expected. He measured 100% on track for his due date every time, my energy levels were the same as always. I worked until 40 weeks and he was born at 41. I wouldn't have had an issue with a late shower with him. I'm expecting my second now and even though he's not due until 11/12 I have a strong feeling he'll be showing up in the last week of October. I'm starting my maternity leave at 38 weeks because I'm exhausted already (30 weeks now). I'm also high risk and have to be frequently monitoring the baby's growth. This time I would prefer an earlier shower for "just in case."
