Pap smear

So, I'm 23 and I've never been to the gynecologist. I just found out that my insurance is making me this year, and I'm kinda honestly terrified. I'm afraid the doctor is going to think I'm "gross" and I'm afraid it's going to hurt. Can anyone please give me some tips to help calm my anxiety over this?
