Does breastfeeding hinder you when TTC baby #2?

So hubby and I are trying for baby #2 and I'm going through the stages of weaning our 2yr old and wondered if breastfeeding will keep me from becoming pregnant? any ideas? any tips  or suggestions on weaning (mainly night nursing is the biggest issue)?

It will not at all hinder you from getting pregnant. Breastfeeding is not birth control. I weaned my son completely at 21 months when I found out I was pregnant. I just stopped our night feeding and replaced it with milk in a sippy and would have dad give it to him and cuddle with him instead of me. He was sad at first but quickly got used to the new routine. It took a week or two for him to stop asking for the boob and I never got mastitis because it was only one feeding at night that I had to eliminate to fully ween him.

I breastfed my daughter while ttc #2. It did not make any difference for us. Good luck!

Nope! It may delay your period which will delay you being able to get pregnant but once you have your cycle you are good to go! I just found out I'm pregnant with #2 and I'm still breastfeeding my 1 year old (though I've started the weaning process now that I'm pregnant).

It can for some women but if you are having regular menstrual cycles you are probably good to go!
