Periods after stopping BCP
I stopped taking my birth control pills last month after I got married (yay!) and I'm wondering if I should expect my period to be late this month? My doctor told me I could conceivably get my period like normal or it could take a few months for me to even have one. I expect that it will take me a while to become totally regular again, but at the moment I'm not sure when I should assume my period is late because of withdrawal from the pill or when I should worry about taking a pregnancy test.
My husband and I did have unprotected sex during the time glow predicted I was ovulating, but I don't know if I even ovulated at all this month since it's my first time off the pill in 4 years. I've been cramping more or less for the last two weeks and I have no idea if that's a pill side effect or possibly a pregnancy side effect. The app has predicted me to start my period today, but I don't think it's going to. Normally (even before I was on the pill) I know when it's coming, my PMS is usually pretty bad.
So my question is, if you've come off of birth control pills before, how long did it take you to have a period? How long did it take you to have a predictable/regular cycle again? Is the constant mild cramping normal? Did any of you get pregnant immediately after stopping birth control? Thanks for the help!
