When to put LO in crib?

Hi ladies! Brayden is 3 months old now & sleeping through the night. When did you start to put your little ones in their crib in their own room & how did you introduce it? Another problem I have is that he refuses to sleep on anything uncomfortable.. I had to put a soft blanket under his sheet in his bassinet just to keep him from sleeping with me/ on the couch every night! 😩

We had our first in his immediately, and our second was in a pack n play in our room for a week or so, and then in the crib. I am such a light sleeper that if I can hear them breathe I can't sleep.

You have to do what's right for you, but the AAP does recommended that baby sleeps in your room for the first 6 months.

Our son will be in his pack and play/bassinet not in our room but in an alcove in the hallway where I can still see him from our bedroom door. He will sleep there until we can afford a crib & get a 2 bedroom apartment.

The longer you wait, the harder the transition typically is. In have 3 kids and my older ones stayed with us until closer to 8 months and they had the hardest time transitioning. We moved our 3rd at 2 months and she did fine but we'd check on her frequently until closer to 6 months.

For us anyway, baby will be in a bassinet for maybe 3 weeks tops then she will be going in her crib.

As soon as he slept through the night we put our son in his crib... about 9 weeks or so. I held him until he fell asleep then laid him down. At 6 months I laid him down drowsy but awake and he learned to put himself to sleep. He's almost 2 now and still uses a sleep sack and still sleeps awesome (6pm-6am) You'll find what works for you, good luck!
