Mastitis... any tips?!

I'm currently on antibiotics for mastitis, and have several large lumps on both breasts that I can't massage out. I have ultrasound booked to ensure there's nothing worse than blocked ducts...
Has anyone got any tips on how to make the lumps go away? They aren't painful anymore, just awkward.

I had someone watch the baby while I stood under a very hot shower for an hour and massaged my blocked breast. It got almost all of the lumps out. Then for the next 24 hours I encouraged my baby to nurse as much as possible and massaged the lumps while she was feeding. Eventually I got all the blockage out.

I tried to massage mine, but it didnt help! The antibiotics seemed to do the trick for me. I did also hear putting a warm compress on your breasts 15 mins before feeding would help. Nothing worked for me - just time. Good luck!

Hi I found having a bath while bath close beside you say in crib to encourage milk flow. Hold warm flannel on breasts while massaging then cold flannels when get out of bath brings swelling down

I have used hot compresses, i put them on then dip them back in the water a few times til the water gets too cool. Then massage them out while i pump. Have you tried pumping? I start low, then get up to a good setting and massage one side, then the other and go back and forth until the lumps are gone. I was worried that i would have this after spending labor day at dollywood. I had pumped at 7:30am then was hurting so bad by around noon i tried to hand express in their nursing are, but both my breasts were completely solid like a softball. I was able to get abt 2 ounces total out, then power pumped for abt an hour in the car when we left at 4pm. It was extremely painful. How long was it between nursing or pumping that caused the mastitis?

I've heard infrared massagers work quite well to get rid of the lumps, might be worth a try as they are nice and cheap? Good luck!
