Going back on birth control to help ttc

I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks in January and my period has been regular (28 days), but it's been extremely clotty. I went in for an ultrasound last month and they said there's nothing leftover from the miscarriage and that the lining looked good.. this month again I had two days of very big and dark clots and then just spotting... I've heard this can be from abnormal hormones ?? It seems that an egg wouldn't even implant if I have such clotty yucky periods ?? .. one of my friends was put on birth control after a miscarriage and got pregnant the following month. Has anyone had similar success?? I messaged my doctor today to ask if I could start BC again next week.
