How did you tell your in-laws/ SO parents?

Trying to figure out how to tell them. I  know  there is  pacifier and oneise thing,but like to hear how you guys told them or if you have any ideas. I know my mother in law  will go straight to the phone after we leave to call her sisters.

Last time I told my Mom with a scratch off I got on Etsy and told my in-laws with this little egg that they cracked and it said: "pink or blue either will do, because we're expecting baby number 2."
They were all so excited (sadly I lost that pregnancy). This time I'll put my one year old in a big sister shirt and wait for them to notice.

We haven't told my MIL yet. My last pregnancy we told her and she didn't really seem to approve (told me there's other options, asked if we're really ready for this ect) and then she continues to rub her daughters child in my face. we lost that baby at 7weeks, I only had one period before I fell pregnant again. I'm currently 8weeks and we're waiting till my 12 week scan before we tell anyone. But probably won't tell her till later on as I don't really want that kind of negativity this time round

We went to Michigan for a camping trip with my inlaws  and came out wearing these!!! Such a great reaction!!!

We found out just before my dads birthday so I got the inside below and wrapped it as part of his birthday gift.   My in laws live half way across the country so they got a phone call.

We gave our son our sonogram pictures and let him tell them mommy has a baby in her tummy.

For my inlaws hubby called and told them they were going to be grandparents; we weren't expecting them to be excited so we didn't do anything fancy for them. We were surprised that they were happy about it, which was a very different reaction than I was thinking they'd have.

I called and told my mom. I text my monster in law something to the affect of "I know you stalk my shit so I know you already know but we are expecting again not that you'll bother coming to see it" -she lives five miles from us and won't come see our daughter.

My husbands parents live on the other end of the country, so I think we will be mailing them something cute (not sure what yet, we are announcing late-October so maybe a pumpkin themed thing). I am doing the hollowed out egg with a note inside for my parents. I've done that before with great success, and the recipients just loved it.

We just told them pretty straight forward. Told my parents if all goes well they're getting grandchild #3, and his mom that she would be getting #7.
