Is 2,200 a month enough?

I was talking to my grandma today about finally moving in to an apartment with my man. She says what he's making (about $2,200 a month) would be enough to live off of comfortably without me having to work so I could stay home with our soon to be one year old, as long as we don't go overboard buying things. Where I live, a two bedroom apartment would be anywhere from $600 to $850. As of now we only have our phone bill which is about $90 and the basic Netflix plan and that's $7.99 I believe. So when we get our place we'll have a few extra bills like PG&E;, water, and possibly wifi. After all that, do you think we'd be able to live comfortably without me working? Or should I get a part time job?
