Have you experienced recurring UTIs caused by an IUD?

Over the summer I have been experiencing UTIs that progress into kidney infections. The multiple doctors I have seen think it's possibly due to bacteria attached to my IUD. So I did some research and found that this has been happening to a lot of women on the many different types of IUDs. My doctor has even admitted that many doctors don't believe this is a possible cause; which I have found many women were told that they were wrong when they speculated the same thing. In my searching I found that some women experiencing these problems had their IUDs taken out and tested for bacteria, all of which came up positive. Once these women had their IUDs removed, all the problems stopped. I'm sad to get mine taken out tomorrow after 6 great years on IUDs but I am hoping this nightmare will finally be over. Has anyone had a similar experience?
