What's your LDR love story?

I haven't seen my boyfriend in 4 months, and I won't be seeing him for another 5. He lives in New Zealand and I'm in Texas, so even time zones are tricky. I know I care about him a lot, but sometimes the distance is discouraging. Y'all have any sweet LDR stories to lift my hopes? I just wanna know that in the end it's gonna be worth it...

I meet my boyfriend online and we started out at good friends. I felt so tight with him. We talked all day everyday. He lived in Texas and I live in California. Then he started bringing up the relationship talk. He asked if I wanted to be his girlfriend. We both understood the distance and accepted that we might not see each that often. I told him I would think it over. I tried my best not to fall in love with him. I didn't want to go through the trouble and tears of dating someone who I never met in person started away. I realized how deep in love I was with him and cared for him when I wasn't attracted to others anymore. Everyone else wasn't him. So we became a couple. We met for the first time earlier this summer and plan to meet again for Halloween. It's so hard living far away from each other. Especially at night when I'm alone in bed. But I wouldn't break up with him. I would choose him everyday always. We're thinking of moving in together early next year. One day that distance will be over and I'll be much happier

My husband lives in Manchester UK, I live in Los Angeles. 
We have never lived together. 
I met him last April online completely by accident on The Stone Roses Facebook page (who the fuck meets on Facebook?). We first met in person in Manchester over Memorial Day weekend. I went back for 2 weeks over in July for a trip I had already planned to Scotland (he is actually Scottish..not English), and we knew. We knew that no matter what, after everything we had each lived thru, it was meant to be. It sound like a shit cheesy love story, but honestly....it was...it still is. 
We took a ferry out to the Isle of Mull, the light was amazing....
Due to both our jobs and kids, neither of us can move at the moment. My youngest are in their last year of high school, he's got a grade school daughter he can not leave, and I still have 12 mo left on my work contract. 
We got married in Santa Barbara California in November of last year.
We travel a lot. He comes here for a month, I go to the uk for a week or two the following month. I've been to the UK 7 times in the last 15 months, he's been here 4 times. Does it suck balls? Yes. Is it expensive? Depends on what you consider expensive...to me is $400-600/month to be with my best friend/lover/man of my dreams expensive? It's an expense, but not something unaffordable. And no I do not make a lot of money. $21k/yr with free rent (so closer to $40k). He makes even less.
I am a pro at finding deals because I can't live without him. 
As soon as the kids are done with school and out of the house, I plan on moving there. Until then we keep flying over the Atlantic every month. 
Chin up. If you're meant to be, there's nothing that will keep you apart.

My husband and I started out long distance. I lived in TN and he lived in TX. We met online and were long distance for 4 years before I moved to Texas. We got married on our 5 year anniversary and are celebrating 8 months this month and are ttc our first! Not all LDR work, but mine certainly did and I wouldn't trade the hardships we faced for anything. Hope this helps give you hope! :)
