By "woke" I just mean someone who doesn't agree with gay marriage but claims they aren't homophobic, someone who doesn't know too much about BLM but wants to learn more, someone who is aware of the current issues but isn't heavily involved in activism, etc.

Just because someone does not agree with something does not make them homophobic. A homophobe hates gays and wants to take all their rights away. Someone can love a gay friend and still not agree with their lifestyle smh.
