If you have a high paying position, did someone help you get to where you are in your career?

I don't know if this is a stupid question or not but… How much are you considering to be high paid? $100,000 a year? $50,000 year?

I'm not and never will be high paid in my chosen career. Still couldn't have gotten here without help.

I wouldn't say I'm "highly paid", but people have definitely helped me. I had a manager recommend me for the job I had before this, and that experience led me to this job, for example.

You need networks, sponsors, mentors, etc. to continuously move up the ladder. 
We have our top executives do a leadership panel in our trainings for leaders... these are people making $200k+ easily (excluding any bonuses), and they will be the first to tell you that it's impossible to get that high in a career without any sort of "help".

No one gets anywhere in a career w out learning from others and getting help/advice along the way. This is in conjunction with you working hard as well of course. Cant rely on other people only to get you paid

I'm not highly paid, but it definitely seems like my boss gave me a chance because he saw some trait in me that he respects about himself.

lol I make $12/hour BUT my parents are loaded. My dad has worked his ass off for the last 15 years to get to the position he's in now. He is responsible, motivated and an excellent leader. But, he would tell anyone that he never would have made it this far if it weren't for my mom's support. 
My dad is great with numbers, my mom is great with people. Dad knows how to succeed in business but turns to Mom to talk about how to handle coworkers and employees. They totally work as a team.
