Mothers feeding formula...how much does your 7 week LO take in a sitting ?

At our 1 month appt, our pediatrician stressed not feeding our daughter more than 4 oz in a sitting, and she's been ok with that until today.  Gave her 4, she was still gnawing at her hands, crying,  gave her another ounce.  Happy baby after that.  What do you do with your 7 week olds?

My LO is 6 almost 7 weeks and my doctor is a firm believer in not restricting them. He usually eats 4 but sometimes, especially at night, he will eat 5 oz. My doctor says some other doctors especially ones without kids tend to restrict and go by the rules toooo much. I say if she's hungry feed her!

mine does 3 oz every 3 hours  almost 6 weeks

Mine is 9 weeks now. He goes back and forth between 4oz and 5oz. He just ate 6oz. It takes him 25-30 min to finish a bottle though.

My 8 week old eats 4oz ever 3 hours and at bed time he eats a 2 oz bottle with 2 tsp of baby food in it  and sleeps 5 hours (it ends up making a 3 oz bottle) when he wakes he gets 4 oz of milk.. and at 7-730am he gets another baby food bottle and sleeps til 9 and is up for about 4 hours then another milk bottle and if he's still hungry Ill make a baby food bottle and if he doesn't eat it I put it in the fridge then give it at next feeding.

My 7 week old eats 5 oz every 3 hours. He is high on growth charts for height and weight, so I figured it's ok to give him more than 4 (he showed signs of still being hungry after 4) because he'd need more to sustain his weight. I have read you can give them 2-3 ounces per pound of their weight for the whole day. My son is 14 pounds so 3x14 is 42 ounces per day.

we do 4oz and then if he's still fussing like you describe we "top him off" with another oz or two. your baby will tell you what they need!
