She's finally here.
Little miss Evee Rose Clark was born 8/9/17 at 17:40 weighing a tiny 2.28kg. I was induced on the 7/9 for pre-eclampsia. All started fairly normally....gel was inserted and I was left overnight waiting for my cervix to soften. Bright and early the next morning at 8am my doctor broke my waters and the contractions started building in intensity. Then they added in the syntocin (Aussie version of pitocin) and dear lord was I in pain. My contractions were instantly bad so I went straight for an epidural at 9.30. Then it was just a waiting game. Had a couple of instances where the epidural didn't take in certain spots so had a top up drip I could push as needed and did a lot of side hopping to shift the numbness. Around 5pm they decided I could start pushing. Unfortunately for me I have previous hip issues so pushing bub out literally made it feel like my pelvic and hip bones were going to snap so doctor made the decision to use the vacuum. Him trying to get her in position resulted in me screaming abuse at him telling him to "leave me the f*** alone" it was excruciating. But after about 5mins of help, 3 separate cuts and some labia tearing our tiny little munchkin was born. Have never been so in love and overwhelmed and scared in all my life. I keep having to google things to see if I'm doing it right. Hubby has been fantastic...though I always knew he would be an amazing father he did such a good job coaching me through my labour. To all the mummies still waiting I hope it goes quick for you and you have a pain-free labour wherever possible.

P.S - there are so many things people don't tell you about that happen post labour. Like the gigantic rush of blood that will exit your body the first time you try and stand. Literally thought I was bleeding out haha. Or that when your waters get broken you get the joy of just having them gush everytime you move, cough, laugh too hard for HOURS!
