panic attacks

Ryann

There are certain events in my life that have caused really severe panic attacks, I'm talkin curled up in a shaking, crying, nonverbal mess of a person on the floor kind of panic attacks. Even when I talk about them with a small amount of detail a lot of feelings come back from that time and sort of make me shut down. I've told my boyfriend about these times, and he's seen a couple of them as well. He's understanding for the most part, but he likes to vaguely joke about it when we're with our other friends. I try telling him I don't think its funny at all but he just tells me sorry and that I should "be getting over it instead of dwelling". Am I overreacting about it? Is he right and I should just get over it? UPDATE: I talked to him about how I don't like his joking and he apologized and promised he wouldn't joke about it anymore. I trust him enough to actually keep his promise, so hopefully he'll start helping me more to get better than just telling me I have to get over my problems.
