Non-stress test anyone??

Question

Anyone had a NST before? I have my first coming up next week and just wondering what to expect. FTM and I'm AMA (aka old lady having a baby 😂) so have a NST scheduled every week until baby comes (EDD 10/9). Ugh. So many Doctor visits when ur an "old lady" of 38! ;)

They put you on a monitor to record your contractions (if any) and baby's heartbeat. They give you a button to press every time you feel baby move. They look to see how baby's heart rate changes with movement. It's fun. They gave me juice and cookies. 20 minutes.

They're super easy. Literally lay in bed with a small monitor on your belly so they can listen to the heartbeat and sense your contractions. Bring a book or something to do, because you will just be laying in bed chilling for a while!

I do weekly ones because I'm having twins. It's super boring so just bring to pass the time. It's a short test but I'm always there for an hour or more because my twins are assholes and hate being on the monitor lol. The machine picks up everything so I don't have to click anything just lay there.

Pretty much what everyone else described. Two monitors strapped to your belly to record baby's heartbeat and monitor your contractions. I hadn't felt any contractions at all up until my nst was over. I go to work and have two! 🤣 I didn't even know I was going to have an nst that day 🤷‍♀️

I have to do them weekly due to baby girl being small. They just Velcro 2 bands around your belly and you sit there for 30mins

I had one yesterday and will have them weekly from here on. You lay on a bed with two monitors strapped to the bump, and they give you a button to push when you feel movement. Make sure you eat before and you can drink cold water/ OJ to get the bub to move. Good luck!!!

At mine I have to lay on a bed with 2 monitors strapped to my belly.  Plus a clicker in my hand to push when baby moves. I thought the first one was going so well, but I was hooked up for an hour and turns out they were concerned since I was having contractions every 4 min that I couldn't feel.  Had to wait for them to call the dr to give the ok to leave the hospital.  This week was a quick 20 min one.  I was told to eat something that would make her move, which is hard since I have gestational diabetes and all I could think of is sugar.  They said they like to give juice to people, but I couldn't have any.

Yaaass twice a week it's such a pain to go to the doctors just to get hooked up to a machine for 20 mins . When all I wanna do is stay home and do NOTHING!! But the neat thing about it is you listen to your baby's heartbeat and of course make sure they are alright and healthy so it's not that bad !!

I do this twice a week because of gestational diabetes. I went earlier than prescribed because her movements changed dramatically and I got very worried. It's nice to hear her heartbeat so often ❤️
