can you get regular periods while taking the mini pill?

So I'm 2.5 months PP. I'm 97% breastfeeding and I started the mini pill at 6 weeks PP. But after couple weeks I got a period! a normal full 7 days period. I was surprised because I'm breastfeeding and taking the pill. I thought that it either stops your from having a period or causes irregular bleeding. My period was normal and when it stopped I never had any bleeding in between. Has anyone experienced this? My husband and I just had sex for the first time after birth and my instinct tells me I'm ovulating because I have ovulation pains and egg like mucus. I do NOT want to get pregnant anytime soon 😣 please share your experience with the mini pills and periods
