Dr brown pacifier? Safe until when?

Our LO is 10m and still using the 0-6m old dr brown silicone pacifier. We give him different pacifiers and he won't accept them. The recommend age is to 6m but I can't find anything saying why. Is it safe to still give him these ?

Probably more of a concern for her dental development

I think it has someyhing to do with the toughness of silicon and not size or shape. Like they start having teeth and strong jaws to break off pieces and choke if your baby is chewing on it... Or it can bend with a softer grade of silicone and possible have the whole l thing in their mouths gagging.

Hi all! I got ahold of someone at dr browns and they told me this silicone pacifier is for all ages and the only time it can become a choking hazard is if it breaks off in pieces. It's not 0-6m it's actually 0m+ there is no age limit for it

I don't think there's any danger in using a smaller pacifier. I think the danger is giving baby one that's too big. It's a choking hazard. But this should be fine!

My 2 1/2 year old niece is attached to this pacifier. They're trying to get her off them, but her parents are going through a divorce so it's tough. Anyway, they've never had an issue with these.

dental development and also they are getting teeth in and it's a risk that they could chew on it and bite bits off and choke. I haven't had my little one yet but our plan is that once her teeth start coming in is when we start getting her off it

Baby can get the whole thing stuck in their mouth which is why you need to get a larger one. My daughter uses the MAM brand and got hers stuck sideways in her mouth and it was really scary! I switched her to the next size right away.

We moved up a size because my baby was putting the whole entire thing in her mouth which is unsafe lol

I've been told to ditch the pacifier by age 2 due to possible dental issues. But I've not heard about the 6 month mark.  Maybe they "age" their pacifier like their bottle nipples (0-3m, 3-6m, 6-9m etc).
