Our Sunshine made her appearance!

This morning at 12:57am Maura Miriam arrived weighing 5lbs 9oz 17.5 in long. I was induced due to her small weight at 38 weeks on Friday (cytotec). On Saturday morning my water was broke at 2cm and 70% effaced. No painful or even noticeable contractions all day. Then at 5pm my cervix was checked again, 2.5 cm 75% effaced. So at 5:30pm I was started with pitocin. At 8pm pain got to a 9 and I asked for IV pain meds to take the edge off. Fast forward to midnight and I was 8cm dilated 100% effaced with burned off pain meds. When my doctor finally arrived I was begging to push. I stayed true to my plan of not having an epidural and I was able to push out my precious bundle of love with only 1 2nd degree tear with one stitch. Mommy and Daddy love you Maura!!
