Good pregnancy books for 1st time moms?

This is my 1st pregnancy and I have a lot of questions. Any suggestions on some books that are informative but also won't scare beejezus out of me? I heard some of them focus more on the negatives of pregnancy and I would like to avoid reading about that.

My cousin sent me Natural Hospital Birth and it's really helped so far. I'm a FTM and I'm nervous too. This book seems pretty common sense so far and I like that the approach is for someone who would like to do things as naturally as possible, but wants to be at a hospital and have all the usual hospital options available to them. It talks about the various pluses and minuses of all the many things you'll encounter/will be offered to you during labor. I only just got it so haven't read a lot of it yet, but even just flipping through it I feel more informed, which makes me feel less scared!

Hands down the best book I read was "expecting better".

I'm not even kidding...but Belly Laughs by Jenny McCarthy is wonderful! She takes those negatives of pregnancy (like cravings and discharge and gas...lets face it- pregnancy is beautiful but there are some things people do not prepare you for 😝) and makes them real and something you can actually relate to and laugh at (spoiler...she is a little crude at times but I love it. I mean she refers to the discharge as the "snail trail".....😂)  All while being informative. I actually am able to remember most of what Ive read in that than in any other baby books. Because I could relate. And because of that book I didn't feel like some pregnant monster cause she made it normal.  She actually has a whole series: Belly laughs, baby laughs, and life laughs.  If you like to learn and at the same time have a good laugh I highly recommend them. I'm on my 3rd pregnancy and am about to read it again. It's hilarious!

I second What to Expect. As far as preparing for baby I got Womanly Art of Breastfeeding and Happiest Baby on the Block.

Ina mays guide to childbirth. The first half of the book (100 pages or so) is just of inspiring natural birthing stories! And the second half is very informative of pregnancy, labor and gives you all the questions you should ask your midwife or doctor. Highly recommend this book
