HSG Test... how bad is it?

Question

Going in this afternoon and I've heard mixed reviews from excruciating to just awkward.
I was told to take 800mg of ibuprofen and they use local anesthetic at my fertility clinic.
Also, did anyone have luck getting a BFP in the months after? I've heard this test can help.

The actual procedure didn't hurt! However my cervix was being uncooperative so they took a big clamp and grabbed/pulled my cervix forward. Now that was awful. Other than that it was fine.

It was alright my cervix was small so they needed to do it twice but catheter kept coming out so they needed to hold it open with something it wasn't thatttt bad

I didn't take anything beforehand and that was a mistake. It does hurt 😕 sorry to say. Be prepared to take it easy for the rest of the day. And sadly, no we didn't get pregnant after this, but I've heard the same thing.

definitely take some meds before... it was uncomfortable. If you have any issues it will be worse for pain.

I thought it hurt 😭 pretty bad plus I was giving no pre medication and it messed up my cycle
