Hospital bag?

Hi ladies!
 
First time mom- I have two questions...
What are the essentials I need for my hospital bag?
When did everyone start packing their bags? I'm 32 weeks and was told I should have it packed now.

Pack now! I put it off with my first and went into labor before I even had a bag to pack anything in 😂 
This time around, I'm already almost packed (30 weeks today). My list is basically everything I wanted that I had to send my husband home for:
-Phone and Kindle chargers (purchased new ones so I don't have to think about grabbing them day of)
-Toiletries (shampoo, face wash, etc)
-Some comfy PJs 
-Comfy maternity yoga pants for going home
-One nursing bra to wear home
-snacks!! My daughter was born just after midnight. I hadn't eaten since lunch and there was nothing to eat until breakfast. 
Some people recommend your own towels, pillow, blanket, etc. I personally am not bothering with that. I don't want to make more laundry for myself at home or risk getting blood on anything. I also just chose to use the giant pads and weird stretchy underwear the hospital provided lol Again, why risk ruining my own undies or making more laundry for myself.

Check with your hospital to see what they provide. Mine provides all essentials, toiletries, after delivery granny panties, diapers, things like that. For me I pack, pjs, nursing tops/bras, snacks, chapstick, and my own slippers because I swell up pretty big. For baby, I brought my nippy, breast pump for advice from consultant, hats sleepers and swaddlers. For husband, pillow, ear plugs and eye mask (nurses are in and out all night and one of us needs to be rested), snacks.

You do not need a diaper bag for the baby! The hospital has everything.. with my 1st I only brought a going home outfit, pacifiers I wanted her to use and a bottle in case because I wanted her to be taught on our stuff.
The rest I packed was for me. Mostly clothes chargers etc. this time I'm brining a couple nursing nightgowns so I look presentable for pics and visitors!

I'm 33 weeks with my 3rd and should probably pull my finger out lol nothing is set up most is still in the attic and needs washing and checking and haven't even thought about my hospital bag 😞
