Is June too late to have baby shower?

My due date is the 20th of June and my mom wants to have it June 6th, two weeks before my due date. She said the end of May is a bad idea since it's gonna be Memorial Day and people are gonna be traveling ... Any suggestions?

Because my shower wasn't going to be able to happen until late May early June I told everyone don't bother because I have ZERO interest in sitting in a chair for 3 hours opening gifts which sweating and feeling disgusting and huge and uncomfortable. Plus that just cuts it to close. What happens if you go into labor at 37.5 weeks and you have nothing because your shower hasn't come yet. I would insist on Mid May Late May. Your shower should be your choice. Your the one that now has to prepare and wash everything for your little one at 39 weeks which I promise you will be cursing and swearing over when the times there. You shouldn't have to rush to prepare.

I think it's kind of cutting it close. Unless it doesn't bother you. I know I'd have anxiety about it. But then again, I haven't heard of any planning of a baby shower for me (my family usually does a surprise one) & I'm holding out on buying a lot of baby stuff until May just in case I do have one. But the waiting and not knowing is driving my stress levels up the wall  and it's not like I can just ask if anyone is throwing me a shower. Hopefully everything turns out well for you. At least you know and can plan.

With my first son I was due January 18 th,  I had my baby shower on the 12th, went into labor on the 13th had my baby boy January 14th at 7:14 a.m, point is baby can come at any time whether you do your shower early or late.

I actually picked memorial day weekend, I figured it might make it possible for out of towners to make it. It will be exactly 4 weeks before my due date but im still nervous about the time 😓

I'm due June 19th and having mine May 16th, the Saturday before Memorial Day weekend. You could always move it to that day. Still a month from now so guests will know in time and gives you time to prepare instead of be rushed :)

It's going to be what you're comfortable with. If everyone you'd invite don't normally travel for Memorial Day then it's not really an issue. I've had them with both my kids early in the mid 20 weeks because of circumstances. But honestly I waited until last minute to wash everything anyways because if I do it too early I get to anxious lol

I don't think it's too late but I would suggest doing it earlier. That way your not super pregnant and miserable. Also you have time to organize stuff you get along with returning or exchanging anything. I'm doing mine in two weeks. I'll be 33-34 weeks pregnant!

I had my first baby shower 4 weeks before my due date. This time due to work and holidays we did our baby shower 10 weeks before. As long as you don't over exert yourself or have a history of early deliveries I wouldn't worry about the baby shower being so close to your due date.
