When body cam meets gun... 🔫🚨🚓

Question

New smart holster automatically makes police body cams record when guns are drawn. 
   
A new smart holster design could make police body cameras more responsive in the moments they're needed most: when an officer draws their firearm.  
TASER, the company behind the stun guns used by law enforcement officers around the world, recently introduced the Axon Signal Sidearm. It's a small wireless sensor that detects when a weapon is removed from its holster and immediately initiates recording on connected cameras in a 30-foot range.  
   
Other triggers being developed for body cam auto turn on is when an officer turns on a patrol car's light bar, opens car doors or charging a TASER battery. 
    
What are your thoughts on this? 
   
Additionally what would you think of something that would signal dispatch and/or a department when a police officer pulls their gun from its holster?

I think it's a great idea.. especially with how many times we've heard "his body cam was turned off," during suspicious circumstances. Though, I suspect they will still use "his body cam was not working/was broken," as an excuse. Part of me doesn't think it matters though. Police officers have murdered people on camera before and gotten away with it.. don't think they will ever really be held accountable, no matter the evidence.

I favor body cams that always record over ones that only do when a gun is drawn. I'd be fine with it as a backup system. 
I have further questions about the removing the gun from its holster autocalling. My main concern is tying up phone lines with accidental calls. Like the current 911 butt dial issue. If that can be avoided I would support its implementation.

It hardly matters. People get abused and murdered on video footage by the police all the time and NOTHING serious happens to the criminal police officers. Rodney King, Eric Garner, Tamir Rice, Joseph Mann, to name a few...
I wish video footage was a sure way to help anyone .

The whole interaction should be recorded, not just when they draw their gun imo. Most of the controversy arises from the question of "what led to..". Also, there are a lot of people who are victims to cops abusing their power when even when a gun isn't drawn. I saw a video of a woman getting her pants pulled down in the middle of the street, now that's messed up. It is a good idea though.

Even with that, do you think we will ever see these bad cops being held accountable? I follow a page on fb who are against police brutality. Some of the videos are very hard to watch, just yesterday I was sobbing watching the cops taser a teen to death, directly tasered his penis! No charges were filed. I dont know how the families cope.

I feel like body cams only work when people don't mess with the actual footage and can't turn them on or off.
The video should automatically be sent to the IAB and the cops in the department in which the officer works shouldn't be able to obtain a copy without an attorney.
The videos should be made available to the public as soon as someone views them directly after an incident happens.
Same for dash cams.

I'm in favor of body cams. However I don't believe the police department should have access to the feed at all. Rather a 3rd party service. 
Having things routed to dispatch could be problematic unless it's just a notification or something.
All in all our police in America are in dire need of a complete overhaul. I find it extremely sad that it's come to this point where we have to use body cams to uphold police integrity. An OATH in which they take b4 they even get a firearm
