Does a mirena IUD hurt to put in?

I'm getting my IUD in about 2.5 hours and I'm nervous. Have any of you ladies had one? If so please comment and tell me what your experience was!! Thank you

Mine was honestly the worst pain I've experienced. I had really bad cramping for about 3-4 months after. But I've had it for over 3 years and still love it. The pain is short and definitely worth it! I recommend bringing a friend with you to hold your hand.

I had the mirena coil in and I got told to take pain killers before hand, my cramps were so severe I had to go to the out of hours doctors, my cramps went on for about 2 weeks. And it's just started again as ive just come on 😤😪

Nothing worse than cramps .. worth it !

Slight cramping, but no legitimate pain.

You get cramps and may feel a sharp pain for a second when they put it in.
