Did anyone every have the talk with you?

Question

I am 20. My mom never had the talk with me about getting a period or about having sex. If so, how did it happen? If not, how do you feel about that?

Some in school. Once my cousin told me sitting to close to the TV would make me have my period. I was maybe 10yrs old and gullible. Lol.

My mom made sure of it! I was 10 and started my period at 11. I thank her everyday for telling me about my body and about sex. I am so comfortable talking about it noe

Period yes sex no and I was perfectly fine with it. It made me kinda scared not knowin certain things about sex so I didnt rush to do it at all. When I finally did I felt like I knew what I needed to know as far as in protection, pregnancy and stds and most of all self value. I knew I wasnt gonna just have sex just because I knew it had to be on my terms with someone who cared about me. And even if things went wrong id be okay because I know I wanted to .

Neither the period or sex talk.  I'm almost 50, married & have a daughter & still "waiting for it"!! :-) had d period talk w my DD, so she was prepared when it came & will have the sex talk when she asks!!  Trying 2 break that "family tradition!! " :-D

Nope! My school gave me both talks... The period talk in the 5th grade. My mom had to sign a form saying it was okay for me to attend the assembly. So I guess she figured that would suffice. ( I also got my period a year later so maybe she thought she had more time?) And my high school preached absitinence so I guess  they figured that would be enough. (And it was, I waited till I was legal. Hah)

​Honestly I'm completely fine with them not telling me, I was well informed regardless.

Never had the sex talk with anybody,it's taboo in my culture.

​But I had the period talk when I ran to mom crying thinking I'm possessed because I had brown discharge in my undies & didn't know what was that ☺️

Nope. My parents were too busy working to talk to me much. I found out through the internet. I'm 31 now and I will definitely be talking to my children as soon as I think they can process it.
