How To Jump Start Labour???

I'm currently 37 weeks and had an ultrasound done yesterday and my son is weighing at 8 pounds already. So my Doctor went ahead an gave me the go ahead to trying jump start labour because if he's not here with in the next 2 weeks my doctor said it would be better and safer to get a C Section done. So any advice or should I just wait to see if he's comes on his own...???FTM
