Jury duty on my due date?

I got a jury summon for the day of my due date. I explained online why I needed to be excused but a lot of my friends are saying they won't excuse you and I might have to go in... but how is that possible if I'm expected to give birth? Is there any way out of this? I don't care about going to jury duty but I don't want to go into labor plus I don't even have a car. My husband and I share the car and he uses it to go to work. Its complicated.

Even if you show up, it's close to 0% chance that you will be selected, simply because it will be uncertain if you can be there for the full length of the process.

I got called for jury duty for about 7 weeks prior to my due date and my OB gladly wrote me a note. Still waiting to hear back but she said they typically will dismiss you. I have gestational diabetes and have to see multiple doctors, high risk, dietician, non stress tests, etc.  My doc seems to think it won't be an issue. We shall see!! 🤞🤞🤞

They absolutely WILL excuse you. They excused mine and put me on the do not summons list for another year lol

Same. I brought my jury summons to my doctor's office and they filled out the disability part to excuse me.

They let me out of jury duty for emotional reasons when I had a miscarriage the month before jury duty, excused me for 1 year. super nice of them.

We were moving the week of my jury duty and I just wrote a letter explaining my situation and was excused. You will definitely be excused if it's on your due date .

I had a jury duty summons on the day of my 12 week appt. My OB sent a letter and I didn't have to go, so surely they'll excuse you for child birth lol. Mine was just a checkup!
