I wish people didn't make me think I wasn't going to be able to move for 6-8 weeks! I was fine after two days.. holding changing feeding the baby walking sitting standing... after a week I felt like nothing ever happened, what surgery!? I swear smelling your skin burn to open up your stomach was the worst part! Everything else was fine- super tolerable! You'll be fine and you will be able to tKe care or your baby walk up and down stairs drive all that by a week ! Don't let anybody scare u into thinking you'll be helpless! It's bull! 💯☺️

Fart as much as you can post op.And there's a possibility that some of your skin above your incision will be permanently numb. No one told me that and it freaked me out a little.

Dont be afraid to ask for help. Wearing a tight tank top somewhat helps, rest every chance you can, and walking does help healing!!

I was in a lot of pain for a week and still didn't feel quite right until two weeks. I wish I didn't have to entertain people at home, it was hard. I wish I had discovered Gas X sooner. The gas pain was insane.

Hold a pillow over your incision when you cough, laugh or sneeze. Get up and get moving as soon as they let you, the quicker you get moving the sooner you'll start to heal. Use your arms to push yourself up out of bed and don't rely on the stomach muscles that have been ripped apart. Take your pain meds as directed to stay on top of the pain, if you wait too long the pain could get too bad and the pain meds won't help. It really isn't as bad as some make it out to be as long as you stay on top of your meds and get out of bed when they'll let you. I've had two c-sections and about to have a third.

Hold a pillow to your incision when you cough, sneeze, and laugh, it'll help so much. 
Try to at least get out of the bed once you're no longer numb. Then walk around your room if you're up for it.
While in the hospital, try to only sleep on your back but angled up, I was not able to sleep on my side because it just hurt too much. 
Snag as many of the huge pads and mesh underwear as you can from the hospital, they are amazing! 
For me, going poo was like one of the hardest things. I'm 3 weeks pp now and I'm just now starting to have more normal poops lol. So seriously take all the stool softeners/laxitive stuff they'll give you. 
And with your pain medications, definitely do not be afraid to tell them if you need more or just something stronger. For the most part I was pretty good with the amount and dosage they were giving me, but my DH was always telling me to make sure I was being honest with the nurses about my pain levels. 
Once you get home, it is seriously so much better and easier. 
You can absolutely hold your baby, not sure why someone would tell you that you shouldn't. And really get up and moving around as much as you can stand, don't be a lazy bones and stay in bed all the time haha. 
I have stairs in our condo and I did take it easy the first few days, I would stay upstairs for the most part because the bathroom is up there but it wasn't because it hurt, I was just scarred I would mess something up. 
And I saw another comment about your milk not coming in as quickly or something, I feel that's more of something that's just dependent on the person, I had no issues with my milk. Of course the first few days it's just the colostrum, the liquid gold but I was getting a pretty good amount. All the lactation consultants were pretty impressed with how much I was pumping. I would say by day 4 or 5 the actual milk was coming in, and still a pretty decent amount. 
Back tracking to the actual CSection, I kinda wish my DH had watched them do the procedure and told me what was going on. I've been thinking about that these past few days and I think that would have been really cool to hear from him. I know he had wanted to at first but I told him not to, I was pretty scarred. But I'll just have to remember that for the next one 😄

For me it was not nearly as bad as I expected. I felt pretty good after a couple of days. I got up and walked around as soon as I could. I drank lots of water, ate vegetables at every meal, and drank prune juice several times a day and my first poop wasn’t painful at all. Wear the binder from the hospital but also consider buying a better postpartum one for yourself (I bought a bellefit). Someone else told me that after about 2 weeks you should be kind of rough rubbing your incision in the shower - it helps break up the scar tissue so it heals better. I’ve been doing that and I do think it helps. Good luck!

You are going to need special panties!! High waist panties on a bigger size because pregnancy panties hurt you and regular panties roll down your belly to me that was the most uncomfortable I have ever been until I bought the right undies
