How long does birth control stay in your system?

My husband and I have been together for 6 years.   We have two kids, each one from our past relationships. We wanted to wait to have a child after we graduate from school. So we're trying now but no luck for the last 3-4 months. Any idea how long birth control stays in the system after being on birth control for 7-8 years?

I've read the actual hormones from the pill leave your body within one day (that's why women can get pregnant if they miss one pill). But, it can take your body a while to get back to normal, just because your natural hormones are kicking on again.

I was on it for 10 years and got pregnant the 1st month I was off of it. They say your body is more fertile right when it leaves your system. That was definitely true for me 😅 But It can take 3 months for you to start ovulating and having a regular  menstrual cycle though so that means it could take 3 months or more to get pregnant.

I was on it for 6 years and got pregnant the first month I was off. But I also took lots of antibiotics during that time which make bc ineffective and I never took it at the same time. But my doctor told me they don't expect anyone to get pregnant for at least 6 months after stopping

I know that depo can stay in your system for 18 months due to what my obgyn told me. Pills I heard the same as the other girl that spoke on the pill.
