Birth Control

I'm 17 and I've been wanting to get on the pill for a while. Me and my boyfriend have been together for 2 years and we're both still virgins. Anyways, So I've had my period since the 26 of March (it's the 17 of April now). I've been irregular since I started my period 5 years ago so I've been wanting to talk to my mom about getting on the pill. (Obviously the whole period thing isn't the whole reason) Yesterday I had my mom talk to my doctor (who is also her boss) and he asked for like a record of my periods right.. So I had my mom give him this paper I wrote today and he just said wait until her next period and we'll see what happens. ?? Okay well I'm really tempted to just go to planned parenthood because this is bull. I'm not really sure what my question is but should I just tell my mom that it isn't fully because of my irregular period that I want the pill? I've got a few other things going on right now and I think she's tired of hearing me complain about stuff. Should I just wait til my next period whenever it decides to come ? Oh and also birth control is used for both regulating periods and helping you not get pregnant right? Like there isn't 2 different kinds? Please don't judge me I don't need a lecture.
