Different religion

Hey all. I am a Christian woman who recently met an amazing man. He is everything I want in a boyfriend and/or future husband. There is one problem that my family will be very upset with, he's Muslim. He doesn't practice and his family doesn't either. They act very Americanized because they've lived here all their lives. Should I let him go because of that or live with the fact that my family will pretty much disown me? Sad I know. Have any of you woman gone through this before?
