Gingivostomatitis (mouth sores)
Its been the most painful week for my 1 year old and it pains me twice to see her suffer from fever and mouth pain caused by mouth sores. It started w fever and we thought it was due to mmr vaccination she had a week ago but after a couple of days a mouth sore appered on her lower lip. We asked her doc if she can prescribe antiviral drug but she declined, said its been days and antivirals are not helpful at speeding things up, instead was prescribed w Motrin (pain & fever med).
Been 5 days since the mouth sore appeared and its hard for me to see her crying specially she still cant verbalize whats wrong but instead she covers her mouth while crying in pain.
Tomorrow, Monday, we're seeing her doctor, i hope things will get better.
Any moms who've experienced the same? Im a first time mom and everything is new to me. If only i can take her pain away, i will.
